Wally Kirkpatrick, an Alabama native, joined the Army at a young age, served with honor, and then went to work at Redstone Arsenal. He was selected for assignment to the Office of the Secretary of Defense as a Congressional Science Fellow and served on the staff of the U.S. Senate. He retired from civil service at SMDC and was subsequently elected to the SMDC Hall of Fame. Mr. Kirkpatrick started DESE with a “briefcase and a dream” to be a technical innovator and establish a reputation of excellence. DESE has contributed to every major DoD Missile Defense Program and many other key programs over the last 25+ years and has grown to over 100 people with presence in several states. Our company started with Mr. Kirkpatrick’s vision and the road over the last 25+ years is dotted with national milestones and successes of our employees.
