Jason O'Brien joined DESE Research, Inc. in 2025 and serves as the Deputy Program Manager for DESE's Cyber Works Division where he leads multidisciplinary teams supporting the development and integration of advanced defense technologies. His work includes program planning, customer engagement, requirements development, technical risk management, and coordination across government, industry, and engineering partners.

Jason has more than 20 years of experience supporting military radar, missile defense, communications, and sensor systems across operational, test, and engineering environments. Before coming to DESE, he led systems engineering and integration efforts for defense test infrastructure and threat-simulation systems. He also spent nearly 7 years supporting ballistic missile, hypersonic, and other live-fire testing at the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site. His career has taken him from maintaining counter-mortar radars in Iraq and Afghanistan to sustaining satellite communications at Palmer Station, Antarctica. Jason also served more than 10 years as a United States Navy Electronics Technician.

Jason holds a BA in Political Science from the University of North Florida and is pursing a BS in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
