Stephen Mitchell joined DESE Research, Inc. in 2021 and previously served as a Corporate Security and IT Security Officer as well as an Information Security Compliance Officer before becoming the IT Manager. His responsibilities include management of DESE networks and assets, network configuration, user support, and personnel. Beyond IT, he also plays a vital role in security at DESE in managing security compliance of both digital spaces and physical assets, ensuring that all practices are in compliance with policies and procedures that address NIST SP 800-53/800-171 in accordance with DFARS 7012. Stephen also handles the installation and expansion of DESE’s office footprint growth. Prior to coming to DESE, Stephen gained experience from a variety of roles in both IT and Program Control at Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation. Stephen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a CompTIA Security + CE certification.
